What have you learned from your audience feedback?

In our Video choice which is 'N.E.R.D EVERYBODY NOSE' is a fast pace song. Based on that we agreed to do a performance video because is relevant to the song . We used a lot of fast cuts which also went with the beat, it was relevant to the song.
These are some of the comments we received from the audience.
  • Editing was "dead professional and the performance was good as well, it matched the story, we used a lot of special effects such as the televisions". We filmed Sinead on green screen then we scaled the image down to a smaller size so it was able to fit on the televisions, then used the televisions as the image behind her so she appeared on them.
  • One of the audience pointed it that out "The faces kept appearing on the tvs, i like that".

  • The audience were also very impressed by the use of Hip Hop atmosphere within the video, It stood out the most to the audience because of the use of the mise en scene . we went to a local skate park, and a heavy graffiti area to shoot different scenes and stills for the video itself. We decided to go on these places because we knew it will pay off and also it will link with the hip hop culture and the audience we targeted. We recorded skateboarders doing tricks and skills which later on we edited so it can sync to the rhythm of the song. Those were some of the Positive comments we received from the audience.

  • Other main features the audience thought stood out the most were the texture and the colourfull back ground, The humor, The tempo of the shots and the general pace of the video, the use of Pac-man background via green screen.
  • The audience told us that the editing did not flow so as to tell the storyline, that there were just fast cuts all the way through. There is less lip-sync and full of performance, We needed some of the close shots because there was a lot of long shots. Those are the things the audience pointed out needed for improvement.
